Step Outside was built the way the streets were: by whoever showed up with something to say. We pack walls with work from 300+ artists, from first-timers to legends, all hung side by side. We take zero commission, so every dollar from a sale goes straight to the artist. Thousands of people have walked through our doors, and nobody needed an invite. This is a scene, not a showroom.

Nobody learned this in a classroom. The knowledge got passed down at the wall, in the blackbook, between writers. We keep that tradition going with artist talks, college groups, and straight answers from the people who built the culture. You’ll hear about the history, the hustle, and what it takes to put your name out there and keep it there. Take notes.

Find us before the landlord does. Street art was never supposed to stay put, and neither are we. Step Outside takes over empty storefronts and forgotten spaces across Philly, the open call goes out for art.  A dead space becomes a gallery. Bare walls become a free-for-all where you can grab a marker and get your tag up. We stay for a minute, then we’re on to the next spot. Miss it and you missed it.
